Your iced vanilla latte is your mini oasis in a chaotic world, and it send shivers to your bank account

You grind all day, everyday in the cooperate machine. It’s exhausting, but you do enjoy your co-workers. But lately, you’ve been starting to resent the work you do. Not because you don’t like your career, but it hasn’t seemed to meet your financial needs anymore.

Every other Friday you look at the direct deposit, the same check every week. The following Monday it seems like it’s vanished to rent, groceries, and the little treats you allow yourself. You’re wound up and need to treat yourself with that jitter juice. It might not help keep your shoulders out of your ears, but it certainly satisfies your sweet tooth.

You can conquer a meeting like a boss, but your bank account makes you cower in fear.

At home, you sit looking at your transactions wondering what you can cut. The coffee needs to stay, because the office has the worst overwatered Kirkland brand cup of ‘joe. Happy hour can’t go away because that’s how you get out, make friends, and feel like you have a community. Therapy is expensive, but if that were to go you’d fall into pieces. You come to realize that it’s not what you can cut out, but rather the lack of control you feel, the absent of progress to goals.

You anxiety about money runs your life

So you overbook yourself in side hustles, in the hopes that it’ll eventually be enough. But then your family starts to wonder when they get to see you again because you’ve been stuck seeing so many sliding-scale clients to fill the gaps.

Maybe instead you skim off 1 or 2 trips to the coffee shop a week. But then your cranky and walk around with a bitter cup of coffee. So you fall back into the daily habit.

You haven’t hit zero, but it doesn’t seem like any number will be enough. You’ve tucked money away into different accounts to make it “safe”, but eventually need to pull from it and feel insecure.

You have fallen into the emotional hole of finances and seem to be alone in it. Everything you have tried to take control of your business finances seems to have fallen short or fallen aside. You are alone and wonder if you are enough to do this.

Don’t listen to that inner critic, you are enough.

You need budgeting for anxious humans

You won’t succeed at something you weren’t taught how to do. You don’t need another online course. You can do all the studying and learning as you can, but you’ll continue to feel lost, drowning in a sea of information, and wanting to crumble under your desk.

You need a place that is supportive, and encouraging, and can teach you what’s needed to take control of your financial world.

    Hi, I’m Timothy Kelly, LCSW

But please, call me Tim. I’m a private practice owner, Certified Coach* in YNAB (You Need A Budget) helping Anxious Humans unlock financial peace.

I help anxious humans budget with YNAB because I too have been an anxious human about money. YNAB helped me pay my way through my master’s program, helped me marry my love and buy a house, and has been supporting my business ever since I’ve started working.

In this economic climate, that’s a lot to ask for. And it was a struggle. But I made it through with some support from my peers. But not in the way I’m offering to you today. This is why I came up with the idea of the Budgeting for Anxious Humans, to be what I needed back then. It’s secretly why we all became therapists too, amiright?
